I played with the camera for an hour or so this weekend - toyed with settings and lighting a bit. If you have a camera that allows you to manually adjust things like aperature (the size of the hole allowing light into the camera) you can make close up shots really stand out. By increasing the aperature (making it a smaller number like f2.8; its a paradox, I know) and increasing the shutter speed to compensate for more light entering the lens - you dramatically increase how "deep" the photo looks.
Other than that - the old battle-axe is going to be here this week, I'm pretty excited about that. We plan on checking out some stuff I've neglected to see over the past 20 mos. here, so if anyone has any suggestions on things to see or places to eat, by all means - leave a comment. I sold my car this week as well - not to mention 2 picture frames, a battery operated lantern, some books, 2 reams of paper, some wire-cube organizers, a camera, an alarm clock and a various other bits of accumulated junk. So I guess things have been looking up lately. Let's hope that trend continues at least through May/June when I plan on taking my boards.
